One of the few leaders that have shown the way to allow the younger generation to systematically "replace" the older generation is a heart surgeone, Prof. Frimpong Boateng of the Cardiothoracic Center of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. He says he is stepping down to allow the younger ones to take over the leadership of the centre.
I think he is one on the very few who believe that changes like this will help the country and not his pocket. Young people have innovative approaches to solving problems. There are countless "white elephants" in the public sector in Ghana. I have had encounters with some of them. If we are keen on reaching our goals in the shortest possible time and in a cost effective way, then we should give the younger generation the chance to effect this change.
All I can say now is, he has shown the way, we need others to do same.
