The Christmas celebrations were underway and Curious Minds were not left out. In a studio packed with active young people, issues were retrospectively looked at- those that relate to children and young people and projections were made into what is in 2011 for young people.
As curious minds relies on the active support of partners, Mrs Doris Aglobitse joined in the programme by phone to interact with the children her agency- the United Nations Population Fund- support. Her acknowledgement of huge strides made for young people in the year under review indicated that a lot has been achieved yet there is more action and commitment needed from government and development partners to move young people forward in the coming year.
Dr. Grace Bediako the government statistician also joined in by phone right after she finished preparing her Christmas meal. She acknowledged the active support of Curious Minds during the 2010 Population and Housing Census saying: "Curious Minds was instrumental in the 2010 Census". She disclosed that the provisional census report will be launched next year 2011 and the final report will be launched by the first quarter of year 2012.
There was fun, yes real fun as you would expect from young people gathered. There were replays of recorded mispronunciations and slips dubbed "Bombers", an annual tradition of Curious Minds which is intended to create fun amongst them and certainly for the listeners as well. It added nothing but excitement to the programme. Emmanuel Ashong won the title Bomber for the year 2010.
